I’ve never really had a garden before. It has been the missing connection to my knowledge of food…what grows, what dies, what fights to live and what just gives up. It is an interesting observation and humbling to contemplate how trying it must have been to feed your family from the land. How you probably had to have a food network with your neighbors to trade for variety. A brand new bloom on the Mammoth Sunflower.
Sugar Snap Peas: I love standing there eating them off the vine!

Still green…these will turn chocolate in color.
There are three kinds of lettuce.
A Hugelkultur mound for strawberries, sedum and flowers to bring in butterflies and bees…with a Happy Buddha on top facing East.
While watering, I burn incense for blessing the plot.
A variety of beneficials to keep the butterflies and bees happy.
