This is one of my favorite episodes. At the very end are the “meows” of Cat Sweet Bea, who doesn’t really meow, she emits sounds of staccato squeaks. I had to use the meows of a cat named Oscar in the middle of the podcast during the tea kettle whistle. I needed a more full meow than what Sweet Bea could do.

I have A Little Silly Cat. And wanted to know how I can clean her. Gently, I know but with what. Can I immerse her??
Phebe Phillips says
Hi Pamela,
Yes you can clean her. First you do not want to use heat or hot water…it will meld the fibers together. The place to begin is to put her in a pillow case, tie the pillow case so kitty will not fall out. Put in the dryer on NO Heat for a few minutes. You use the pillow case so the eyes will not scratch against the dryer tub. A few minutes in the dryer will loosen and pull out dust and dirt.
After the dryer, put mild soap in a bowl of cool water to make a very diluted solution. Take a wash cloth, dip it in the bowl, wring it out, and begin to wash kitty with circular motions. This should help life dust and dirt. It should definitely brighten kitty.
To dry, DO Not place back in the dryer. Put her in the bright sun outside. Rotate kitty as if she’s getting a full tan. The sunlight will help brighten her, and the air will dry her.
It is not wise to fully wet or immerse kitty in a tub of water, as this creates a wet ball of stuffing inside that becomes very difficult to dry.
Let me know how it goes.
With friendship,
Phebe
